The Death of Little Ibsen.

Today it's 100 years since Henrik Ibsen died. This year Ibsen celebrations are being held from Oslo to Teheran through Beijing to New York. All in honor of his death, which I find to be just a tad bit morbid, but who am I to judge. Any excuse to celebrate, I guess...
My favorite Ibsen play ever made is Wakka Wakka's the Death of Little Ibsen , with the last showdate on May 26th. Ibsen as a puppet, can't get much weirder than that. Go see it, it's in New York, at the Sanford Meisner Theater, 164 11th ave across from Chelsea Piers. Well worth the treck.

Immigration.

My favorite question for americans is "where are you from?"
Generally I get the state, along with all the places they've moved, rolling down a highway or two. Then I get the family history of how such and such great-grandparents/grandparents/parents from such and such country came here. And the most amazing thing is that Americans can usually to the exact ratio tell you what generation american they are. But I wonder about the politicians. Are they the only americans without a family tree?
